Our Winter Remains by Kristine Neeley Bond that builds in black night of womb. Thrum of hearts with dream-like mistakes made in haste. Sleepy fingers curl beneath cleft, clenching chest. Did we share these sacred, stolen moments? Study diamonds scattered along curve of moon? I cannot recall the warmth of you that lives in constellations uncharted. Burned out stars, your trails, like black holes swallowing the questions that course through veins until they still with hard-won wonder at the gift long forsaken. Mirrored faces smile in dim light of morning, while cherry blossoms snow in spring wind, giving way to green leaf's march. Ever, the seasons turn, but our winter remains.
Thank you for reading,
