Hi Kristine! I read your comment over on Mika's thread and came here to read your work - really lovely, I subscribed! I think we have a lot in common creatively - I also hope to inspire the feeling of having tea with a friend, for my readers 😊 And... I've always wanted to see the Kentucky. Warm Regards from over at Cup Half Full!
Hi Chesica! I'm so glad you popped by and that we've connected.
Kentucky is great, and I should really get there more often -- it's only about an hour away with no traffic. I was fortunate a writing retreat took me to one of its loveliest parts last summer!
I see you live in Germany! I studied the language for six years (though am a bit rusty) and was able to visit for a bit finally in 2009. I long to go back!
Oh, I must have thought you’re based in Kentucky, my mistake. Really the entire eastern part of the country is something I would like to know better… I am from the west coast and things are so spread out there that I never made it very far east, with the exception of a brief internship in Florida. 😅
Wow, 6 years of German is a lot! I am curious what drew you to it? If you ever decide to visit again, let’s have a cup of tea 😊☕️
I could totally see how you might have thought that! Just edited my copy a little to make it more clear. Thank you!
I *love* the Pacific Northwest and we're hoping to get back up there in the next year or two for a visit. Our middle son's middle name is Rainier, we love it so much!
I've got German in my ancestry, had a thing for The Sound of Music, and I didn't want to take Spanish and French like everyone else (ironically am studying French right now, on my own). I ended up in class with an incredible teacher who transferred from my middle school with me to my high school (whom I still correspond with all these years later!), and then I continued some studies later on into college. I just adore the language and culture -- especially in Bayern.
Rainier is a beautiful name ! And that’s a lovely story about your language learning experience - I am also a Sound of Music fan as well and I think good teachers make ALL the difference!
this is such a lovely snapshot of you, Kristine (both words and photo!) I've seen this hero post floating around and haven't known how to approach it. I always feel like I *am* having tea with a friend when I read. <3
I liked the idea of a landing that was perhaps more obvious than the About page, which is usually the first thing I hop to, myself, when I visit new-to-me publications.
This is so creative. I am glad for the solidarity you shared over on Shawn’s post. ❤️
Thank you Jamie! I'm glad we've connected!

A cup of tea would be lovely!

Thank you Civil! ♥️ this is the post I found and mulled over a bit, trying to encompass some of the writing I’d already done on my about page:

Thank you so much for sharing this. There are a lot of good tips inside. Now to use it effectively! <3
