Every little what if aggregates us into who we are today. I think the trick is not to regret the what might have been and instead celebrate what is. Without them, we might not be who we are!

Agree, Julie. This is gorgeous: This slow and steady showing up, being brave, trying — I tell myself — is enough.

Yes, we are all enough. 💛

"Sometimes I’m haunted by the could-have-beens of my story."I love this poignant and for most of us, very true, quote of yours.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, J.T.

And you're so right about not inhabiting the regret -- there's a little nostalgia, a bit of pondering, but the majority of what I experience now is wonder and gratitude at the assimilation of all those bits and pieces, the chances taken or not taken -- the aggregation, as you said, of my story. A story still being written!

I can’t believe I never told you that story! Or subjected you to listening to it 🫣 honestly I have no idea where it is — tore apart our CD cases looking for it this week, but still no luck.

Kristine, thank you for this, yet again. The rawness of self you share through your history, your mindful collections of your present, the futures that tremble under your words is an uncanny freshness. What else is an artist but one who trembles with desire to share these secrets, whose art is that trembling desire, who bares it to us. Pharrell was giving us the blueprint with his words to Maggie (who I love, btw, but who doesn’t?): no one has what you have to give, only you have lived your story that carries all those other stories, and thank goodness you are on here giving us glimpses of it from time to time. It is only a matter of time when the swell will show itself in full. I’ll be front row waiting, whether it’s in text or in song, it’s gonna be a story to tell.

Thank you for your kind and supportive words, as always, C.I. It’s been such a journey, coming to this place and still recognizing the joy (and task) of the work of living and creating that is to come.
